Tonight I wasn't expecting auroras. My friend Scott Weberpal gave me a call to let me know I should head out, and I'm sure happy he did. I checked the Solar Monitor and things were looking really promising for the night.
I drove up to a spot well northwest of Port Washington. After about an hour of static green band, the show got started... and it was one of the most stunning displays I have ever seen... pinks, reds, greens and purples - like a laser show. WOW!
